Frequently asked Questions
Welcome to Impulsiqs Physical Therapy! Here are answers to some of the most common questions our patients have:
Q: How do I schedule an appointment?
A: You can set up a free discovery call at 703-249-9284 or through our contact form.
Q: What is a discovery call?
A: A discovery call is a10-15 minute talk with a Doctor of Physical Therapy that will allow us the opportunity to understand the problem you are having, your goals, and determine if we are the correct fit for your needs.
Q: Do you treat all people from a discovery call?
A: No. The discovery call acts as a screen for who is appropriate for our services. If we do not feel we can help you, we may know someone who can. We are glad to lead you in the right direction to get the help that you need.
Q: Do I need a referral or prescription to start physical therapy?
A: No. Virginia is a direct access state meaning you can access our services without seeing another provider. However, we do treat people that have a prescription for physical therapy.
Q: What are concierge home services?
A: Concierge home services means we come to you. We can meet at your home, office, gym or other place to be discussed based on your needs.
Q: What conditions do you treat?
A: We treat a wide range of orthopedic, sports, and post-surgical conditions. Click here to see and extensive list of the diagnoses we can help you overcome.
Q: How long are treatment sessions?
A: Treatment sessions are 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy for one hour.
Q: What should I expect during a typical session?
A: Your session will generally include hands-on manual therapy, possibly dry needling(to be discussed with your PT), progression of guided exercises, and education about movement and positioning. Each session is tailored to your specific needs.
Q: Is dry needling included in the cost of my treatment?
A: Yes, dry needling is included in the cost of treatment. Use of this treatment can be discussed with your physical therapist based on need and your comfort.
Q: Will I be doing anything to help my problem between sessions?
A: Yes. You will be given new exercises and assignments for a home exercise program(HEP) after each session. Progressive exercise is important to help carry over improvements from each session and extremely important for helping you push forward to your goals.
Q: How many visits will I need?
A: This can vary based on your diagnosis and goals. Your therapist will create a customized plan based on your evaluation and discuss your needs with you.
